One night (Anna to Vronskij) – a poem

Naked
pale
snow-white pale
under the moonlight

rain
tapping gently
on the window
soothing me
reassuring me
as if
nothing could ever be wrong
as if
at the end of the day
it was nobody’s fault

(Nobody deserves to be that unhappy)

all sins
washed away
snow-white clean
under the moonlight

you
standing next to me
drawing on my bare pale skin
rainbowloands and moonwalks

your eyes
have a cat-like quality
they are never the same
iridescent
lit by the moonlight

they are autumn leaves
of glorious gold
or ocean’s tides
of sapphire and blue
or meadows
gloriously green under the sun

do they tell the truth
oh please let them tell me the truth
under the moonlight
there can be no liars
under this moonlight
there can be no sinners
under this moonlight
not rights, nor wrongs

(Nobody deserves to be that unhappy)

You see, it is so algid and white and clean
it washes sins away
it washes guilt away
it washes wrongs away
wiping tears away
turned into pearls
by this moonlight

(Nobody deserves to be that unhappy)

My bare naked skin
becomes translucent
and I
am not myself anymore
I am putty in your hands
under this moonlight
you can mold me
under this moonlight
yon can reshape remake me
under this moonlight

(Nobody deserves to be that unhappy)

right now
I am all yours
under this moonlight
you can even see my soul
through my translucent skin
through my transparent bones
through my effervescent aura
through my evanescent breath
under this moonlight

oh please do not break me
so pale so fragile so precarious
under this moonlight
do not tear me apart
do not destroy my heart
under this moonlight

or I
will fall apart
thousand of pieces
of translucent skin
in your hands
under this moonlight.

(Noboby deserves to be that unhappy)

No lies
no sins
no tomorrows
under this moonlight.
It is just you and me
and our bare naked skin
translucent
borderless
under this moonlight.

(Nobody deserves to be that unhappy)
